I realized I never finished my 30 day film challenge… Can’t even keep up on my Tumblr.
Anyhoo, Speed Racer is AN INCREDIBLY underrated film. It’s visually outstanding, up-lifting, and big-hearted. I loved it from the moment it started, to the very last confetti fall at the end. It helps that I had a deep devoted love for the cartoon already. The theme song is perfectly catchy and unbeatable.
It was also cast perfectly. Emile Hirsch is just the right amount of handsome and determined and naive. Susan Surandon and John Goodman are just an added bonus.
